What is a LISTSERV?

A LISTSERV is general term that refers to "an electronic mailing list program that allows an individual to participate in electronic discussion groups on thousands of topics via e-mail." The University of Georgia hosts over 2000 lists for faculty, administrators, and student organizations, in support of the University System of Georgia mission.

Who Can Use a LISTSERV?

  • Anyone with a MyID can be a member of an existing LISTSERV.
  • However, only UGA Faculty, Staff, and registered UGA Student Organizations may request a LISTSERV.
  • As long as one of the owners has a UGA email address, other owners can be added that do not have to have a uga email acct.
